Armed with little more than an acoustic guitar and her fragile alto, San Francisco folk singer/songwriter Emily Jane White offers complex tales of melancholy and isolation. While comparisons to contemporaries like Cat Power and Hope Sandoval are frequent, Emily's music owes a clear debt to classic female jazz and blues singers such as Billie Holiday. Emily's haunted blues quickly found a home on Oakland's Double Negative Records with them only hearing her 4-track demo. Fooling around with music since pre-school, Emily started on piano around the same time she learned to read, eventually picking up the guitar during her college days. After graduation Emily picked up and moved to Bordeaux, where she performed with a bevy of independent French artists further honing her songwriting skills. Upon returning stateside, she moved to SF and began recording 4-track demos formulating the songs that would ultimately become her debut album, Dark Undercoat

The general character of the record is probably best characterised as a fun, folksy, communal romp; the tracklist combines anthemic goodtime jaunts like the whistle-along 'All Is Love' with more unassuming instrumentals like 'Lost Fur', contributed by Jonze's regular film scorer, Carter Burwell. The record exudes charm from every pore, hitting high points on the rowdy, kid-fuelled 'Rumpus', and the campfire-jamming Arcade Fire stylings of 'Sailing Home'. Warm and good natured throughout, Ms O's first foray into soundtracking has a feel that would seem to riff on the warmth and handmade quality of the film's visual style, and a most amiable listen it is too. -
Alguien podría brindarnos el último disco de Doug Martsch, sale dentro de 9 días, pero quizas algunos filtradores ya lo tengan o pueden encontrarlo, favor de compartirlo, menteré q había nuevo disco y me pasé buscando, no está demás hacer la petición aquí.

PD. encontré un torrent, lo bajé pero era un fake q me pedía clave, luego instalar programas con dudosas intenciones…
