Lee Memorial: The Lives Of Lee Memorial (2009)
Energetic indie rock never gets too old and that is the style of music Australia's Lee Memorial brings at you on their debut The Lives Of Lee Memorial. The band is the new vehicle for ex-Sodastream frontman Karl Smith, whose distinctive voice rings out song after song regardless of tempo, while being complimented by female backing vocals. The album showcases Smith's vocal controls like on the slower echoing "Mayflower" that lets the listener feel his every emotion, while on the upbeat catchy "Long Days In Bed" his jangly delivery is perfectly memborable. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have been creating music together for more than fifteen years, with The Bad Seeds, Grinderman and The Dirty Three. More recently, they have collaborated on soundtracks for such films as The Proposition (2005) and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007). White Lunar, a two CD set to be released by Mute on 21st September 2009, contains music they composed from the aforementioned films, along with a selection of their cinematic scores, including rare and previously unavailable material.

Este chico vino el jueves del PS2004 y ahora es algo así como la polla en vinagre en UK. Sale en las portadas de los magasines, dice que va a ser más grande que Michael Jackson y, parece ser, ha abandonado, digooooo, pulido aquel estilo que inventó: Grime. Lo comento porque en aquel bolo de hace cinco años lo suyo, aunque interesante, no era muy accesible que digamos.

Shadow Kingdom continues their journey through some of the finest experimental folk laced with beautiful drones, all recordings are new.Stand alone CD version of the LP (plus two bonus tracks), 2xCD housed in an A5 16 page pro-printed comic featuring artwork by Solange. This is identical to the CD version that comes with the LP, but obviously you don't get the records, the LP sleeve artwork, and insert that the LP has. Limited to approx 500.

Amusement Parks on Fire: 'Young Fight' EP
Amusement Parks on Fire were holed up in Los Angeles not too long ago working on a new album. While we won't see that release until early 2010 the band dropped the awesome Young Fight EP on iTunes and Amazon yesterday, and it's incredible. Crushing guitars, melodic chord progressions and tightly would rhythms to tide you over. If a track like "In Our Eyes" represents what's to come then we're all in big trouble. You can also pick up the EP on during their current tour with Happy Mondays and Psychedelic Furs this month.
