Friska Viljor - For New Beginnings (2009)
Friska Viljor are back this month with a new album "For New Beginnings" and the ever dependable Daniel from the band (and head of their record label Crying Bob records) sent through this song to share 'Wohlwill Strasse'. It is "a tribute to the people living at the street Wohlwill Strasse, situated next to Reeperbahn in Hamburg. Me and Joakim (the other half of the band) spent a week there a couple of years ago and fell in love with it". It's a jaunty pop travelogue complete with swinging horn section and 'whoo-hoo-hoo' chorus; and suggests the new album (pre-order here to receive a signed copy) is another must-buy from the excellent Swedish folk-pop duo. Friska Viljor are on tour in Oct and Nov across Europe

.mmm, me gusta la portada! estos qué hacen? alguna info, referencia, myspace…
De hecho no es la portada del disco sino una ilustración que acompañaba la maqueta, pero lo que he colgado sí es la versión definitiva del mismo. Aquí te dejo el myspace, aunque creo que las versiones de las canciones que hay puestas no son las definitivas, yo de tí me bajaba el disco (para lo que tarda…).

Greg Laswell - Covers (2009) EP
Covers features songs from Echo & the Bunnymen ("Killing Moon"), Morphine ("In Spite Of Me"), Mazzy Star ("Take Everything"), Kristen Hersh ("Your Ghost"), and Kate Bush ("This Woman's Work") in that particular order. What really makes this release worthy are the final three tracks, which cover all great unique female voices and showcase how Laswell is able to portray the raw essentials of each track through a male perspective. I could see these songs easily sneaking onto some TV shows and it truly adds to an already impressive resume for Laswell!

tampoco te creo, jajaEl de prefuse es un toston , y ya de paso el del Mohawke tambien me ha dejado frio. Sobran minutos que no veas en ambos discos. Si fueran mas cortos igual los escuchaba otra vez y todo.

tampoco te creo, jajael que me ha ido gustado es el proyecto este que tiene con toda la trupe, Risil, pero el disco de prefuse de este año, caquita, jeje
Y el de Excepter pues nose, pegadle una escucha y me contáis, ahora que leo el texto, digamos que un disco normal no es, el texto ya avisa "The “Black Beach” soundtrack LP features a DVD of the motion picture of the same name — Black Beach shot by Harrison Owen of the open-air performances conducted by Excepter in Big Sur during its 2008", ya avisa que es una parrafada artie de estos colgados, eso si, Excepter jefazos y que los descubrí gracias a vosotros 2 y josexiu.

Jodis - Secret House hydrahead 2009
Jodis, an entirely new outfit involving James Plotkin (Khanate, Khlyst, Phantomsmasher, O.L.D.) Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Lotus Eaters, House Of Low Culture, GREYMACHINE) and Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God), is a modern exploration of restrained sonic minimalism and tonal/textural density.
Jodis' "Secret House," as a whole, recalls a void, a shoreless pit, a slow nihilistic decent into absolute blankness… The vocals emote a deviating distress, one that the listener will walk away from also knowing. The guitars loom with an almost inconceivable image of stillness. The percussion possesses an irregular circularity facilitating the general disorientation encapsulating the mood of the record. In summation, a thorough listen would kick the living shit out of your aptitude for co-habituation with other humans.
Muy recomendable para aquellos que les interese el minimalismo o los grupos arriba citados...
